Devyani Patel is a highly qualified English tutor and educator with over 15+ years of teaching and tutoring experience across Key Stage 3, GCSE, A-Level, and 11+ entrance exams. Her career spans four contrasting UK schools where she served as Head of English and Assistant Headteacher for Teaching & Learning. With more than 1000 hours of online tuition experience with over 100 students, she brings deep curriculum knowledge, assessment expertise, and a proven track record of raising student attainment in GCSE and A-Level English Language and English Literature examinations.
Holding three master’s degrees – in English Education, Victorian Studies, and Educational Leadership – alongside her BA in English and History and PGCE qualification in English Education, Devyani combines academic rigour with a practical, research-informed approach. She is also a Senior Examiner for AQA and an examiner for OCR, Eduqas, and Edexcel, providing her with rare insight into what examiners are really looking for when marking GCSE and A-Level English papers.
Devyani has successfully supported learners working towards a range of goals, from building foundational confidence to securing top grades and university offers. Her students have progressed from grade 4/5 to 7–9 at GCSE, and from C to A* at A-Level, thanks to her structured, strategic, and encouraging approach.
Known for her clear communication, calm manner, and high expectations, Devyani creates a supportive learning environment that empowers learners to master essay writing, analytical thinking, and exam techniques with confidence. She tailors each session to meet the learner’s individual goals, while also equipping parents with tools to support their child’s success at home.
