AGE GROUP : 11 – 14 YEARS OLD
His course lays the foundation for success at GCSE by developing confident and accurate reading, writing and speaking skills. Learners engage with a wide range of fiction and non-fiction texts, learning to analyse language, structure and meaning in increasing depth.
This course also supports the development of writing across a variety of forms and for different audiences and purposes, with a focus on fluency, coherence, and grammatical control. Spoken language is developed through structured discussions, debates and presentations, promoting clarity, confidence and effective communication. Through these combined experiences, learners are well prepared to meet the challenges of GCSE English Language.
KS3 to GCSE English Literature Transition
AGE GROUP : 11 – 14 YEARS OLD
This course lays the groundwork for GCSE by introducing learners to a wide range of high-quality literary texts across poetry, prose and drama. Through the study of whole texts, including works by Shakespeare and pre-1914 literature, learners develop their understanding of character, setting, plot and theme.
This course also encourages exploration of how writers use language, structure and form to create meaning, while introducing the skills needed to make comparisons across texts. These experiences build the analytical and interpretive abilities required for confident, well-informed responses at GCSE level.
